Indonesia as an investment destination
Asian Economies, Economic Video | 25th November 2021
Saul’s presentation to a webinar on “Seizing Post-Pandemic Investment Opportunities in Indonesia” hosted by the Indonesia Investment Promotion Centre in Sydney on 24th November 2021. In this presentation Saul makes the case for Indonesia to be seen as an alternative for countries and companies wanting to reduce their dependence on China, with the IMF forecasting Indonesia’s economy to grow at a faster pace than China’s over the next five years. Moreover Indonesia’s macro-economic environment is becoming much more stable as a result of lower inflation and a more sustainable current account balance – so that interest rates and the currency should both be more stable over the next five years than they have been over the past 20 years.
